All digital weighing modules and load cells from Eilersen Electric A/S are now IECEx certified. While an ATEX certification is predominantly a European standard, the IECEx certification is an international standard. With the new IECEx certification, Eilersen can meet the most demanding requirements for equipment to be used in explosive areas.
The new certification has many advantages for the Eilersen customers around the world. Many countries operate under different standards, which means that Ex equipment must comply with the current standard in the specific country. With the new global IECEx certification, machine builders can safely rely on Eilersen weighing solutions internationally. Based on the IECEx approval, the new range of Eilersen digital load cells can be used in Ex zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.
ISO: 9001: 2015 as the basis for the IECEx certification
The foundation for the IECEx certification is the updated ISO: 9001:2015 certification, that Eilersen Electric A/S achieved in 2017. The ISO:9001 certification is the result of a thorough review and alignment of the operational processes, which means that all procedures and processes around our products are documented to the smallest detail.
Eilersen has always been determined in supplying high quality products, and extensive internal quality control has been part of everyday life throughout the company's history.
High quality hygienic load cells
Eilersen is now releasing a series of digital load cells and modules that are IECEx certified for dynamic weighing, process weighing, filling, packaging and general weighing applications
All Eilersen load cells are developed and manufactured in Denmark and based on a highly accurate and very robust capacitive measuring principle. This technology allows an installation without complicated, non-hygienic stay rods, checking assemblies and overload protection devices, which are used in most strain gage load cell installations. All these devices can result in a non-hygienic final installation.
The new range of Eilersen compression load cells, type CL and CM, are based on a patent-pending capacitive sensor design which provides high accuracies and a very high tolerance of up to 1000% overload and sideload. The CL and CM range of load cells were developed for use in primarily food, pharma and biotech installations but can be used in general industry to measure compression loads or forces.
For the future, customers will thus be benefiting from the same high quality, that Eilersen products have always been known for supplying, with the added benefit of the IECEx certification.
Flexible fieldbus weighing modules
The new load cells can be supplied with a range of weighing modules with the most common fieldbus interface options such as PROFINET, Profibus DP, EtherNet IP, EtherCAT and Modbus TCP. In addition, the new digital load cells can be supplied with a digital weighing terminal that include standard firmware for most weighing applications or customized firmware developed according to customer requirements.
