Das Event

Are you ready to future-proof your business by aligning your zero-emission journey to science-based targets? Join us as we discuss learnings and best practices with two industry leaders from food production and packaging: Arla Foods and SIG Combibloc.

31% of greenhouse gas emissions (GGEs) come from the agrifood industry – we have our work cut out for us. The Science-based Target Initiative provides a clearly-defined pathway for companies to reduce GGEs, based on targets that are in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris agreements.

Science-based targets translate abstract goals in concrete action items for different industries, taking their specificities into account – including the upstream and downstream supply chain activities (Scope 3).

We are excited to hear from our panel of experts on how exactly they make science-based targets work for them and how this international standard can create transparency and consumer trust.

17:15 - 17:25  Opening Statements by experts from Arla Foods Deutschland & SIG Combibloc

17:25 - 17:45  Expert exchange

17.45 - 18.15  Conversation with the audience

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a partnership between CDP, World Resources Institute (WRI), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact).
